What’s Walking Out Your Door?
Talents, skills, business knowledge, expertise, wisdom….THIS is what is walking out your door! For a variety of reasons (including layoffs, downsizings, retirement, transfers….), people leave. Studies show that best-practice organizations are putting together multiple techniques to capture critical business knowledge and then transfer it to their emerging workforce.
Organizations, regardless of industry, revenue, number of employees, are faced with this challenge. It is further intensified by the looming retirement of a record 77 million baby boomers over the next ten to fifteen years. This has the potential for huge losses of knowledge related to key processes and competencies.
Aleta Norris of Impact Consulting Group, LLC, will touch on the significance of creating a knowledge retention and transfer strategy, share examples of best practices currently being demonstrated in a variety of organizations and create an opportunity for you to explore and share with your peers.
